‘The Bugatti Mistral is the final W16 roadster, which means it’s your last chance to own a car that sounds like an industrial jet engine escaping from a cathedral.’
The first Bugatti W16 Mistral has left the factory, marking the final farewell to one of the most extraordinary engines ever built.
The Mistral is the world’s fastest roadster with 1,600 PS and a record-breaking top speed of 282 mph.
But with only 99 being available, it’s already been spoken for.
What’s next for Bugatti? Read on…”
In 2022, Bugatti unveiled the W16 Mistral at Monterey Car Week, stunning the world with its sculpted design and promise of ultimate open-top speed.
A world tour follows, with stops in France, the Middle East, Tokyo, Singapore, and the French Riviera.
In 2024, the Mistral cements its legacy by setting the world land speed record for an open-top production car—282 mph (453.91 km/h).
It’s the fastest way to get wind in your hair, short of ejecting from a fighter jet.
In 2025, the first deliveries, Bugatti handed over the first two Mistrals to their new owners in the United States.
One is finished in Black Carbon with Bugatti Light Blue Sport accents, and the other in White Glacier with Blue Carbon and Italian Red highlights.
As a tribute to Bugatti Heritage, each Mistral features the Dancing Elephant sculpture on the gear shifter, a nod to Rembrandt Bugatti’s iconic artwork from the Type 41 Royale.
With the Tourbillon V16 hypercar on the horizon, the Mistral is Bugatti’s swan song to the W16 era.
It is an engineering masterpiece, gone but never forgotten.
‘Bugatti’s W16 engine is like the last great rock band—loud, excessive, and absolutely unnecessary. And just like all the greats, it’s leaving us too soon.’
