Impending Doom

‘Why does The I.C.E. exist? Because driving an old Bentley at 10 mph on solid ice is somehow more thrilling than doing 200 mph in a Bugatti on tarmac.

Welcome to The I.C.E. St. Moritz, where vintage Bentleys, Le Mans legends, and hypercars glide across the ice in an event that’s part Concours d’Elegance, part winter fairy tale.

From Bugatti’s to Ferraris, history meets horsepower in the Swiss Alps.

But how did this icy spectacle begin? Read on to find out…”

In 1985, a group of British and Scottish sportsmen drove their vintage Bentleys to St. Moritz to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Cresta Run.

They park their cars on the frozen lake, sparking an idea that would take decades to become an institution.

It is a stage like no other, unlike traditional Concours events; the I.C.E. takes place on the frozen surface of Lake St. Moritz, transforming it into a snowy showcase for the world’s most stunning cars.

The I.C.E. isn’t a race—it’s about style, history, and design. Pre-war Bentleys, Le Mans-winning Ferraris, F1 icons, and modern hypercars take centre stage, gliding gracefully over ice.

It is a true blend of eras, where vintage cars are the stars, and modern masterpieces from Ferrari, Lamborghini, and Koenigsegg join the spectacle, celebrating engineering evolution alongside automotive heritage.

A tradition is born: every winter, The I.C.E. returns, blending history, exclusivity, and sheer visual drama in a way no other Concours can match.

Where else can you see a priceless Bugatti doing a four-wheel drift… on ice?

‘The only car event where the dress code is ‘fur, sunglasses, and a mild sense of impending doom’ as you watch a £5 million classic fishtail towards the crowd.’
