‘The TZ3 happens when you take 100 years of racing history and distil it into something that belongs in a museum but prefers the track.’
In 2010, the Alfa Romeo TZ3 Corsa was built to honour Alfa Romeo’s 100th anniversary and showcase its illustrious racing history.
The design echoes the 1960s Alfa Romeo TZ and TZ2 models, both lightweight, tubular-framed racers.
The TZ3 Corsa was designed by the famed Italian coachbuilder Zagato, continuing their long partnership with Alfa Romeo.
The TZ3 Corsa premiered at the 2010 Villa d’Este Concours d’Elegance in Italy, a fitting stage for such a unique car.
The car celebrated Alfa’s historic racing teams, from Scuderia Ferrari in the 1920s to Autodelta in the 1970s.
Constructed on a carbon-fibre monocoque chassis with an aluminium tubular subframe, resulting in a super-lightweight 850 kg.
The Alfa is powered by a 4.2-litre V8 engine (from the Alfa 8C Competizione, developed with Maserati) producing 420 bhp, paired with a 6-speed sequential transmission.
It was built solely for racing; it achieves 0-60 mph in just over 3 seconds.
This one-off creation was commissioned by German collector Martin Kapp, who also owns a TZ, TZ2, and SZ Coda Tronca.
The car is designed for occasional track use and, as such, remains a collector’s dream.
The retro-modern styling featured a long bonnet, short rear deck, and signature Kamm tail, blending classic and modern aerodynamic lines.
Painted in iconic Rosso Alfa, embodying Italian elegance.
The TZ3 Corsa is a masterclass in engineering and artistry, blending Alfa Romeo’s racing pedigree with Zagato’s bespoke craftsmanship—an authentic Italian masterpiece for the track.
‘It’s not a car; it’s a handcrafted speed sculpture.’
