The Most Beautiful Race in the World

📍 ‘Some races are measured in seconds. The Mille Miglia is measured in memories.’

Since 1927, Italy’s greatest road race has blended breathtaking scenery, extraordinary machinery and fearless drivers into something closer to theatre than motorsport.

Nearly a century later, it remains one of the finest celebrations of the motor car ever created.

♔ The Mille Miglia: Italy’s Rolling Masterpiece

▪️When Enzo Ferrari described the Mille Miglia as ‘the most beautiful race in the world,’ he wasn’t exaggerating.

▪️First contested in 1927.

▪️The thousand-mile dash from Brescia to Rome and back became a proving ground.

▪️Where speed, courage and mechanical endurance met Italy’s magnificent landscapes.

▪️Legends were born on ordinary public roads before the original race ended in 1957, following safety concerns.

▪️Today, the spirit survives in a rather more civilised form.

▪️From 9 to 13 June 2026, the 44th historic re-enactment saw more than 400 classic cars retrace the iconic Brescia–Rome–Brescia figure-eight route.

▪️Passing through mountain passes, medieval towns, UNESCO World Heritage sites and glorious countryside.

▪️The event became a moving museum of automotive excellence.

▪️The stopwatch still matters, but no longer defines success.

▪️The Mille Miglia reminds us that the greatest journeys are rarely about arriving first.

▪️They’re about preserving history, celebrating craftsmanship and proving that some experiences simply improve with age.

Like the finest Italian grand tourers, the Mille Miglia never really grows old.

📍 ‘It merely becomes more desirable.’
