A Polite Suggestion

The Bugatti Tourbillon watch makes telling time feel like an event.

The French translation of Tourbillon is Whirlwind.

In 1795, Abraham-Louis Breguet designed the Tourbillon watch mechanism.

The principle is to counteract the effects of gravity on the watch movement, thereby improving accuracy.

Essentially, it is a rotating cage for the escapement and balance wheel, averaging positional errors. Wow!

It has always been considered a symbol of technical mastery in watches.

In 2019, Bugatti Automobiles and watchmaker Jacob & Co. entered a partnership agreement based on a shared focus on extreme luxury, mechanical performance and craft.

Now that the tables are turned, Bugatti has planned their version of the Tourbillon.

The Bugatti Tourbillon celebrates 20 years from the Veyron to the Chiron.

The 8.3-litre naturally aspirated engine is capable of 277 mph. It is a 1,800-hp hybrid hypercar with a V16 engine and three electric motors.

The power ratio is 1,000 hp for the engine and 800 hp for electric motors.

There are road-going prototypes under assessment.

Customer deliveries are scheduled for 2026.

Production is limited to 250 units, and most are already reserved.

The Bugatti Tourbillon estimated price of US$4 million.

Every component is created as a work of art.

In a Bugatti Tourbillon, speed limits are merely polite suggestions.
