Aston Martin has been building the Vantage for 74 years; its new baby is something of a howler.
The current style of Vantage came into the market in 2006, and since then, we have been delighted with a 4.7 V8, a 5.3 V12, and Manual and Touchtronic gearboxes.
Both Coupé and Roadster.
And now, the baby Aston is fitted with a Mercedes-sourced 4.0-litre V8 engine, but this time, ladies and gentlemen, this little monster produces 656 hp.
This latest ‘little un’ provides an additional 153 hp more than the previous model.
It is fitted with an 8-speed ZF Automatic transmission, sending power to the rear wheels through an electronic limited-slip diff’.
The Vantage has a ‘Launch Control’ enabling very fast standing starts.
Resulting in a 0-60mph time of 3.4 seconds and a top speed of 202 mph.
Interestingly, Aston has entered into a new agreement with Mercedes, allowing them a free hand regarding engine modifications.
The One-77 has inspired the front of the car, as the new Vantage is 30mm wider, allowing for the grille style.
The cockpit is driver-focused, with its high-quality finish and flat-bottomed steering wheel sitting behind the latest infotainment system.
The Telegraph reports, ‘It’s not just a car, it’s an experience. An experience that involves a healthy dose of G-force and a slight risk of whiplash.’
Whilst Autoblog enthused, ‘This Aston is so British, it practically apologises for leaving you in the dust.’
