Through his investment company, Footprint Coalition Ventures, Robert Downey Jr has acquired shares in Kindred Motoworks.

Kindred Motoworks helps rebuild cars and commercial vehicles with modern powertrains technology. As a company, they are focussed on battery power with an emphasis on the environment.

Rob Howard, CEO of Kindred, said, ‘We still love the smell of gasoline and the performance of those things, but the future really lies on the EV side.’

The company buys donor cars and then sells the completely restored vehicle; additionally, they have created a process to make it easy for technicians to work on the car using instructional videos.

Robert Downey has a new show to be transmitted on the Discovery Plus channel called Downey’s Dream Cars, and its focal point will be the conversion of classic cars to electric.

Mr Downey has quite a collection of cars, including a 2009 Audi R8, Bentley Continental GT, 1967 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Convertible and 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 302. Despite his love of old, classic cars, he wants to be more environmentally conscious, making his investment in Kindred Motoworks perfect.
