The following list of speeds is awe-inspiring; I should point out that the Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+ is electronically limited to ‘only’ 273 mph.
However, Bugatti invites Super Sport 300 owners to have a roll-cage fitted and the engine derestricted to try to beat the 304mph factory record at Bugatti’s test track, Ehra-Lessien.
As to the Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut, the 311mph is a technical claim, assuming tyres that can deal with that level of performance and a road long enough to allow such a feat.
Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut: 311mph
Hennessy Venom F5: 311mph
Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+: 304mph
SSC Tuatara: 286mph
Rimac Nevera: 256mph
Koenigsegg Regera: 255mph
McLaren Speedtail: 250mph
Aston Martin Valkerie: 250mph
Koenigsegg Gemera: 249mph
Aspark Owl: 248mph
In 1898, when Gaston de Chasseloup-Laubat achieved a 39.24 mph Land Speed Record, driving at 300mph would have been beyond imagination.
But then, when Wilbur and Orville Wright created the first successful powered aeroplane, the 1903 Wright Flyer, they probably couldn’t have anticipated an Airbus A380-800 carrying 853 passengers.
