The United States of F1

As of 2023, the United States Grand Prix has been held 52 times at 10 locations.

The first Formula 1 race held in the United States was the United States Grand Prix at Sebring, Florida, in 1959.

In 2023, three Formula 1 races were held in the United States. The races took place in Miami, Austin, and Las Vegas.

As you know, we have just witnessed the new addition in Las Vegas.

It appears America has a newfound appetite for F1.

Ryan Reynolds, Rob McElheney and Michael B Jordan, via Ryan’s Maximum Effort Investments, have teamed up with Otro Capital and Red Bird Capital Partners.

They have invested $218 million in exchange for a 24% stake in F1’s Alpine team, valuing the team at $900 million.

Aston Martin F1 team has received an investment from the US private equity firm Arctos Partners.

Shareholdings, as yet, have not been released.

The investment is in exchange for a minority shareholding in the team, reportedly valuing it at around $1.24 billion.

This American interest is primarily due to Netflix’s ‘Drive to Survive’ series.

It has increased viewership, driven ticket sales and attracted a new, younger audience.

‘Drive to Survive’ has played a pivotal role in the popularity of F1 and the marketing and investment opportunities that go with it, especially in America.

The Netflix series “Drive to Survive” became the most-watched Netflix series in 33 countries.
