The Guinness Book of World Records is a long list of some of the craziest achievements known to man, and 1976, 100′ long Cadillac still holds the record for the world’s Longest Limousine.
Once a beacon of excess and an affront to taste and subtlety, the record-holding 100′ long custom limousine dubbed “The American Dream” is now close to restoration courtesy of Dezerland Auto Museum.
From the front, the American Dream looks like any other Cadillac Limousine. Of course, when you look from the side perspective, you soon realise this is far from ordinary.
The car was initially built off of a 1976 Cadillac El Dorado in 1986 in Burbank, California. Six El Dorados were conjoined during the original construction.
The Cadi’ has been equipped with a series of televisions, phones, lounge, water bed, swimming pool with diving board, a helipad (just for show, I imagine?) which converts into a putting green when the helicopter is elsewhere.
Even with its hinged body, this vast 24 wheel, 100′, twin-engined monster has minimal use due to access, manoeuvrability and somewhere to store enough small change to park this monstrous creature.
The behemoth built by Jay Ohrberg. He was also responsible for designing K.I.T.T. for the T.V. show Knight Rider and the Delorean time machine from Back to the Future.
Oh! I forgot to mention. It is also fitted a full-sized Jacuzzi.
Perhaps size is important.
