The Mirror is smaller than the Windscreen.

The reimagined Lamborghini Countach will be a one-off.

Reuven Mohr, Lambo’s Technical Officer, said. ‘I’m sure there will be a market for retro revivals, but it doesn’t fit our company strategy.’

He explained, ‘We always make this comparison: the rear-view mirror in a car is smaller than the windscreen.’

To that end, Lamborghini is saying farewell to its naturally aspirated V12, 6.5-litre engine with two one-off supercars, the Invencible coupé and the Autentica roadster.

Based on the Aventador, the Invencible and Auténtica performance figures have yet to be announced; as an indication, the Aventador hits 60mph in 2.6 seconds. The pair also use the carbon-fibre monocoque from the Aventador.

The Lamborghini Centro Stile team styled the two cars to reflect the design that has contributed to the company’s prominence throughout the years.

This styling is seen in the Sesto Elemento, the Reventón, the Aventador and Essenza SCV12.

Mitja Borkert, Automobili Lamborghini’s Head of Design, said, ‘we have created two one-off cars with their unique character, inspired by track days and the high-octane circuit environment.’

The incredible sound of the V12 emitting ear-shattering tones will be sorely missed.
