Form Follows Performance

‘The Bolide is treading new ground’, said Christophe Piochon, the president of Bugatti Automobiles.

The Bolide concept was revealed in the latter part of 2020 as a very lightweight, track-only hypercar using the quad-turbo, 8.0 litre W16 engine producing 1,825 hp and capable of 310mph.

It has a major upgrade to the engine with all other significant elements analysed and improved, taking Bugatti’s ‘Form Follows Performance’ to another level entirely.

This motor car is fast, very fast and will rank as the third fastest car in the world, with the Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut claiming second place with a top speed of 330mph and first place is the Devel Sixteen with an alleged top speed of 364 mph and 0-60 in 1.6 seconds.

The Bolide enters its final testing stage, with a limited run of 40 and a current price tag of £3.55 million.

The Bolide has become one of Bugatti’s most ambitious projects to date.

The first deliveries are due to start in 2024.

As Ettore Bugatti famously said, ‘Nothing is too beautiful. Nothing is too expensive.’
