Hongqi S9 Hypercar Promises 250 MPH

The updated version of the Hongqi S9 Hypercar was on display at the recent Auto Shanghai 2021. Hongqi can now build the car, with orders being taken.

First shown at the 2019 Frankfurt Motor Show as a prototype, the S9 is the brand’s ultimate sports car designed by former Volkswagen Group design chief Walter de Silva. The same man who created the original Audi R8 is now working for the Silk-FAW joint venture, which helped Hongqi develop the S9.

The power plant that drives this Hypercar is a plug-in hybrid with a V8 internal combustion engine, producing 1,400hp, whilst information is a little thin on the ground; reportedly, the S9 can reach 0-62mph in 1.9 seconds and a top speed of 250mph

Romano Artioli and Bugatti's Rebirth

The newly announced Aston Martin V12 Speedster with DBR1 specification will pay tribute to the 1959 24 Hours of Le Mans-winning car driven by Carroll Shelby and Roy Salvadori.Upon hearing the news that Bugatti’s production had ceased in 1952, Romano Artioli vowed to revive the iconic French marque.

The name Bugatti instils visions of Ettore and Jean Bugatti, or the Veyron and Chiron, with little mention of Romano Artioli.

Ettore Bugatti’s son, Jean, was a talented car designer who worked with his father. He died in 1939 at the age of 30 while testing a Type 57 car. Ettore Bugatti died a broken man on August 21, 1947.

Ettore’s second son, Roland Bugatti, attempted to bring the marque back by collaborating with Gioacchino Colombo to build the Type 251 race car. However, it failed to meet expectations, and production ceased.

The brand was eventually sold to Hispano-Suiza in 1963, another former automaker, and focused mainly on manufacturing aircraft components
